PhD Student in Computing at University of Utah

Research Interests: Human-Computer Interaction, Data Visualization, PL & Notation

I'm a second-year PhD student at the University of Utah, advised by Professor Andrew McNutt.

My research focuses on human-computer interaction, specifically the design and usability of notation systems in programming languages and data visualization. I am enthusiastic about how to enhance the expressiveness and usability of visual symbol systems, domain-specific languages, and general-purpose programming languages by exploring their design spaces. My goal is to better understand how users from diverse backgrounds interact with these notation systems and to leverage them to craft efficient, intuitive data analysis and programming experiences.

I earned a BS in Information Management and Systems from East China Normal University and an MS in Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
